Blog Post 8: Tell us about a subject you enjoy studying

I enjoy studying so called "primitive societies" and their relationship to nature. I discovered that interest in a second semester course "Cazadores Recolectores" and in this third semester I had another course related to the subject, but I did not like it very much.

The relationship that hunter-gatherer societies maintained with nature allowed them to live in harmony with it, hunters and gatherers choose to conduct their dealings with the environment not based on domination but of trust. This situation contrasts with current societies, where people have more needs than resources, being in search of more production, industries for consumption, making the environment increasingly disadvantaged by nature a horizontal relationship, they see it as something to dominate and exploit, which consequently.

Trying to understand how different societies prior to ours relate to the environment made me question how we now coexist with nature and reaffirms my belief that we must urgently change the idea that nature is only to be exploited.
